2025 is just around the corner and the blog continues ... every wedding I have done over the years has at least a few lines here. Things are looking busy for with lots of brides and grooms and so much fun. You will find pictures of people and venues on instagram so take a look at @tobyweddings and meanwhile ... watch this space.

Gia & Lucas 20th March

And so we start ... 2025 has kicked off and what a way to start. Gia and Lucas got married in the Castell de Llaes ... lost in the mountains of Catalunya ... very romantic and very isolated ... 30 minutes down a track but we made it, a very special place, check out Instagram for photos, something to be seen.

Elise & John 28th March

The Convent of Blanes ... a prefect setting and Elise and John got lucky with the weather, it was beautiful. Everything went perfectly in this, the first wedding I have done with a new planner, Nitidia Weddings. All in all a great day with lots of Peruvian family and lots of love and tears all over the place.

Shauna & Harry 19th April

So ... there was some rain, but that was fine, all were good with that. In fact the whole thing started off with shots of Limoncello and Shauna's recording to Harry over their opening piece of music ... all very emotional and magical. As I said a few drops fell during the wedding but Mas Torroella was great, as were their planners, La Clau, and their guests ... a great day and great start to the year.

Sandra & Sebastian 26th April

They had planned their wedding for last year but when their daughter arrived their plans changed, so 2024 became 2025 and with Isabella in toe! It looked like rain but in the end the day was fabulous and all seemed very happy. Once again off to Masia Cabellut ... a perfect setting for a prefect day and all organised by the perfect wedding planner ... Val!

Natasha & Sean 4th May

La Baronia, Bubble and Bells, Marta, musica, lights action ... very nearly rained on but not quite ... all fabulous. The couple have got thrpough so much to be where they are now and it was a pleasure to dot their i's and cross their t's. I am sure they will live long and happily!

Claire & Stephen 7th May

Back to Masia Cabellut for a lovely day today. At the moment this spring is turning out to be wet and cold so today was a real treat. Friends, family, pushy Pam and little Dom ... they were all there and all seemed to have a great time, as did I.

Cydney & Jake 21st May

Yehhhhh ... Cydney and Jake did it and what's more they did so at the Casa Felix, all was perfect, the weather, the families, the tears and the friends. What a joy!

Niki & Omar 22nd May

The Gran Villa Rosa is a venue above Vilanova i La Geltru, look it up online and you will see something very surprising ... I think it probably dates back top early 20th century and has influences from all over though mainly north Africa ... it is a slightly crazy very off the wall sort of place for a wedding. Today Niki and Omar, from Canada, married there. They were closer to 40's than 20's and had made a very conscious decision to hold off from marriage until they were sure ... and today they were sure ... you could tell.

Ellie & James 24th May

It was all a bit last minute with Ellie and James, but I pushed them to make that effort to send info and make their wedding THEIRS and it worked. It was a joy ... lots of fun and a great crowd ... add that to Masia Cabellut and you have a great wedding.

Jelissa & Chris 26th May

So this lovely young couple married in the Convent de Blanes, what a place, the catering is by Juvant, the man who cooked my wedding lunch and has his restaurant just around the corner ... how I would have loved to have been a fly on the plate of this wedding! Emotional and lovely, all organised by Harel at Luxury Wedding Barcelona and all went perfectly.

Claudia & Simon 30th May

What a great wedding, Simon  from Sweden, Claudia from Romania via Madrid ... 4 different languages throughout the ceremony. One of the most memorable parts was when Simon miss read his vow saying "with" instead of "without" and ie ... "with you life is more dull" ... fortunately he saw the error of his ways and rectified.

Natasha & Adam 31st May

So May comes to an end, a month that started with rain and ended with 32º ... today was a hottie and lots of fun. The couple met in Hong Kong and shared loads of great info making for a very entertaining wedding ... lots of laughs. All held in the fabulous Mar Torroella!

GianNa & Isaiah June 5th

So June is finally underway, summer is in the air and this month will be busy busy busy. It wall started with Gianna and Isaiah's big day in the Almiral de la Font, an old favourite. Organised by Val, another favourite, though young, and a small but very present group. I met the couple back in February with Val and all was promising, and in the end ... GREAT. Maybe the only thing that made life a little harder was starting at 4.30pm wedding at 6.30pm ... that 2 hour wait can be complicated.

Madeleine & Declan June 6th

Australia meets Ireland in the beautiful Cortal Gran (check it out). This was a lovely couple, I have spent the last 4 or 5 day whatsapping (can you say that?) with Declan about their arrival, their baby son Rory's excitement on the plane, last minute messages about vows and readings and so forth and on the day all went smoothly and ... why not say it ... beautifully. A lovely couple and a lovely wedding. Organised by Ricky from Bodas con Encanto ... all great.

Shanice & Adam June 7th

Lovely wedding in La Baronia, just 45 minutes from home, something that rarely happens since I live mid way between the two major wedding areas ... Sitges down south and Costa Brava up north, so my norm is 1'5 hours in the car. Today was organised by The Gathering and all looked and felt smooth, the couple were fab and always had been ... they were very happy with their ceremony, lots of colours there ... Saris and flowers.

Janny & Eric June 8th

A bi-lingual wedding today with Cuban/Americans from Miami ... great day and great place ... Castell de Sant Marçal. Erik and Janny were very happy when all was done and dusted, as was Anna from Just Married ... all very good.

Lily & Kieran June 10th

Together since they were 18 and have done everything from Army to Police to Super Yachts ... and have made it thus far ... not too shabby! Lovely couple, great families and altogether perfect, they married in Mas Terrats organised by Creative and Love. Very very hot but we made it.

Elizabeth & Alex June 11th

What a lovely couple, from the States though Spanish speaker this was the first of four bilingual weddings this month. They have been together for years and have two lovely children to show for it ... their wedding was worth the wait.

Yuliana & Michael June 18th

The first of two MC wedding jobs, this one for a kosher Jewish affair that was lots of fun, The couple married in a glorious hotel, the Vistabella in Roses,  with some of the most stunning views I have seen in Catalunya. They enoyed.

Peixin & Ryan June 20th

Today I played Tobias the butler of the Castell de Caramany ... a lovely Castle, owned by the same family for the last 600 years and home to Ryan and Peixin's big day. Twas a very grand affair and very much in need of a butler who was very appreciated.

Sara & Carlos June 21st

That was fun ... once again in Spanish and English with an international couple who met in Shanghai i spent Covid in the best place possible ... China! There were great speeches from both mothers, also bilingual, and the venue is something else ... Monestir de San Selvi, just 33 minutes from my house. A joy all in all.

Yasmin & Salomon June 22nd

What a wedding ... in Finca Mas Solers ... what used to be Barcelona's Casino but in Sant Pere de Ribes, the place has a feeling of a French Chateau ... very beautiful and Yasmin and Salo were too ... they had a great wedding space, down in the gardens and a 360º vibe going on ... all as good as it could possibly have been.

Olena & John June 26th

The couple live in Dubai so presumably were good with the temperature during the wedding ... they were in a minority if that is so ... wow, very hot but very good. After the ceremony Olena was soooo happy with everything that we had done, a balm for the soul. They held their wedding in Mas Marroch, this is a venue owed and run by the Germans Roca ... Catalunya's nº 1 chefs ... I have done other job here that involved staying for supper and the food was simply glorious ... so Olena started well and, if my experience is anything to go by, finished even better.

Eileen and Kendrick July 1st

So July starts and summer is really here ... Kendrick and Eileen wanted to marry at 4pm so that was when we did it ... but it was HOT! However with some great readings from friends and family, beautiful vows, some cool guitar and the wine box ceremony things cooled down and we all had a great time, none more so than Eileen and Kendrick. All organised by Nua in the fabulous Casa Felix!

Chloe & Ryan July 5th

After a week of afternoon showers today it didn't happen, just as well ... there were lots of kilts and lots of smiles ... all perfect in This Must be the Place, run by Jo and Duncan, twas great.

Sarah & Ciaran July 7th

Ok so they come for Ireland, Ok so they said that they didn't care if it rained ... that this wasn't rain ... but in the end it kept dry throughout their ceremony ... so pleased. Ciaran and I shared lots of laughs before and then he cried like a babe throughout ... as did Sarah when pledging her vows ... there were laughs, lots of audience particiapation, and, as mentioned already ... tears. A great day had by all.

Lillias & Daniel 9th July

A very Scottish affair, Lillias and Daniel married in the beautiful Masia Cabellut, and what's more today was cool ... so good. Sachi organised and all went perfectly, Lillias and Daniel worked really hard writing much of their wedding ceremony and all went as they wished, they were delighted.

Emila & Arturo July 16th

The couple married in Mas Torroella ... very hot, but perfect. A great family, lots of people taking part between ring boys, flower girls, big wedding party. All very very good!

Lexi & Ben 17 July

We met at 8.30am in Barcelona's Parc de la Ciutadella ... first Ben and then Lexi turned up. She had started with hair and make up at 6.30am after flying in from Australia yesterday ... how fabulous to be young and in-love!!!! It was just perfect and they seemed very very happy.

Gemma & Lee July 19th

So Gemma and Lee wanted to laugh during their wedding, it was clear from the start, and laugh they did. Another fab wedding in Mas Torroella this time inside, we thought that that was a great idea at the start but think it might have been hotter in than out. Anyway all was great and fun and at  times silly ... but good!

Maisie & Matt 2nd August

So August has started and how better than withe Maisie and Matt and their lovely wedding at Mas Torroella. It was all just as good as it could be and they seemed to have a ball.

Poppy & Tom 8th August

What a great day, very hot, but very good. Poppy and Tom were married surrounded by friends and family where they met 13 years ago ... in Spain, in a glorious venue near to where I live but where I have never been before: Can Riera de la Pineda, in Arbucies. They managed to surround themselves with people that they wanted to be part fo their day brings camera from the UK, sound was Oriol and they mentioned caterers but I forget who they were now ... all just about perfect.

Emma & Peter 23rd August

This wedding was lots of fun, from start to finish. They are based in Barcelona though from Canada and Poland respectively. Emma works for Air Canada and wanted the wedding to start with the typical airplane announcement bout exits and masks dropping and so on, though obviously tweaked for the occasion. It was hilarious. The whole thing was.

Rachel / Joris 24th August

Well that was lots of fun ... Joris and Rachel sent me some great material and I think that I drew out all that I could. Lots of very positive feedback from family and friends and all in the incredible surrounds on the Gran Villa Rosa!

cara & Sam 28th August

Cara and Sam were always going to have a laugh and that is what they did have. Even the weather wasn't going to dampen spirits ... they smiled and made some cracking vows ... Sam promising to be with Cara through all the seasons: cricket, football, golf ... the lot.

Sarah & Julius 31st August

... and the summer is over ... well officially there are still a few more weeks but hwne you get to September everything feels a little different. Today there were a few clouds but all was good for Sarah and Julius and they seemed to have a great time ... I left them in the Castell de Sant Marçal aboout to start their party under the ever watchful eye of Marta from Bubbles and Bells.

Jessica & Jack 3rd Sept.

So when I asked Jack and Jessica for their info they sent one line replies, I insisted and they said no prob ... that they wanted a short and sweet ceremony, I told them that without readings, without vows and with just a few lines on each other it would be very short and I would make it as sweet as possible. In the end that was the route we took and really it was great, I always think that the more the couple put in the better but this time all was great ... short but sweet and perfectly organised by Marta from Bubble and Bells, just like 3 days ago!

Elise & Aaron 6th Sept.

They married in This Must be the Place ... one of my favourite places, surrounded by family and friends ... 10 years later they made it official, they made it formal and all was fabulous.

Cailyn & Sebastian 7th Sept.

They married at the Baronia ... close to my home and a great place to celebrate ... young, fun, funny, with grandparents reading at their wedding and even defending McDonalds ... but that is another question. A transatlantic affair organised by Jess from Happy Endings.

Georgiana & Ali 8th Sept.

Georgiana ... Rumanian, Ali ... Moroccan,  met in Dubai and married in Santa Margarida i els Monjos ... quite some journey they have made and looks like they have many more to come! The venue, El Serral, felt like it wasn't totally finished and the planners were a bit slow off the mark but we managed it all ... I have just done too many weddings and know when something is right and something isn't. However the couple very much was and that was all perfect.

Hannah & Callum 10th SEPT.

Wow September is busy and we are not even half way through yet ... 11 weddings in total. Today it was a joy to be back at Masia Cabellut with a wedding organised by Jess but run on the day by Mireia Royo, all great though nobody quite realise how lucky the couple were that I was standing next to their backdrop while they exchanged rings ... a wind blew from nowhere and I managed to stop a disaster. Calum and Hannah were fab and all was great!!!!

MARIA & KOMY 11TH SEPT.

They found love in Dubai and they brought it to the Castell d'Emporda, a fabulous bi-lingual wedding English/ Catalan with an Egyptian welcome. It really was all absolutely perfect.

Sophia & Benedict 13th Sept.

130 guests ... now that is a lot of people for a Brit wedding in Spain ... and they made their presence felt ... all was brilliant ... Masia Cabellut is such a great venue, much though it pains me to say (it's almost 2 hours drive from home) . Ben and Sophie were great from start to finish, lots of input, lots of chats and lots of fun! Altogether great with the aid of Ana Ponce ... great planning of the day.

Gabriella & Rikky 18th Sept.

Just 5 days ago we were in the same place, Masia Cabellut, and everyone was terrified of rain that eventually didn't come, today it was HOT!!!! Just when you thought thst summer was over it comes back again. The wedding was a joy, Rikky and Gabriella were delighted and all was just as good as it gets. Organised by Mireia Royo with Miks Sels on camera and the guys from Sound Waves on music though it was a friend of their, Emilie Burns, who sang like an angel.

Emmett & Ciaran 20th Sept.

After having done soooooo many wedding it is hard to find a venue I have never been to before ... but this was one: Can Mercer de la Penya, just outside Sitges on the hills behind. Nice place, great pool and looked lovely. Today was hot hot hot for Emmet and Ciaran but they did really well. Great readings and great music by two of their friends ... a talented crew all in all and a joy to have been part of it all.

Elsa & Olly 26th Sept.

This was a mad couple, lots of fun, lots of laughing, even a son at the end ... Niel Diamond's Sweet Caroline ... hell was raised by their friends and family! Admittedly it was a job to get info from them but when it came all was great ... really fun day at Mas Torroella organised by Mireia Royo.

Sam & Jacob 29th Sept.

This is the first time I have welcomed people to a wedding in Cantonese and I was understood!!! Sam and Jacob were and are a lovely couple, seemed very happy with their wedding ceremony as did their guests. Held in the Baronia and organised by the fabulous Mireia who I married many many moons ago to Xavi! All very good.

Chloë & Gareth 1st Oct.

So they did it ... 10 years later ... Chloë and Gareth were a great couple to marry with a lovely crowd in the fairly crazy venue of Masia Victoria in Sant Pere de Ribes owned and run by a guy I married 10 years ago or so.

Meera & Diego 4th Oct.

Back to Masia Cabellut again, the 8th and last time this year and all was soooo beautiful. Organised by Linda she did a great job and all seemed very happy. They gave the record breaking vows for this year's weddings ... very moving.

Marshy & Michael 6th Oct.

Wow ... we are getting very close to the end of the year and today had to be one of this year's most complicated wedding withe the veil and the cord and the coins and the candles ... Marshy wanted to incorporate elements from a more traditional Philippine wedding and we did ... I think it was well done and all were happy withe the result.

Christina & Justine 7th Oct.

What a day and what a smashing couple, it really was something to be remembered. Their wedding at Mas Torroella was beautiful, there were great and those around them too. A joy!

Harley & Brian 12th Oct.

Harley and Bryan married back in 2013 ... quite a while ago... they now have 2 children and just wanted to let the world know that they were happy and were going to celebrate. Just 20 or so ... in the glorious Xalet de Nin with the lovely Anna from Just Married ... perfect!

Rachel & Eric 17th Oct.

Just one more wedding and 2025 will be done and this was a great one, organised by Val in the Almiral de la Font, Eric and Rachel weer deligyhted with everything and their crowd seemed to enjoy themselves too. Finishing the year on a high.

courtney & Ryan 5th Nov.

The last wedding of the year is always special ... it brings memories of all that has happened throughout the year and today was no different. The sound people were doing their last wedding of the year, it was the last wedding at the venue, Mas Torroella, the photographer had one final wedding next month. Courtney and Ryan were great, it took forever to get information from them but in the end all was perfect, a very intimate ceremony, just 10 people ... but great.
