A new year and so far, and I am writing this towards the end of January, I have 40 or so wedding which will doubtlessly end up around 50 and each will be a party that I get to go to and even make all the happier ... I'm a lucky man!!!!
See you in 2026!!!!
And they are off!!!!!!! 2026 has officially started with the wedding of Katie and Justin in a whole new venue I have never been to before: Villa Valentina in Llaveneres ... it was great. The rain lucky did not make its presence felt though it was definitely there in the background. The wedding was great, very small but very much felt. 18 people, lots of laughs, lots of fun!!!! They really did send me lots of info and the majority of it got used. A fabulous start to the year.
A glorious day and fabulous couple, you can feel spring is in the air and Jackie and Nick were so lucky to take advantage of it. Surrounded by friends, organised by Africa who I married 5 years ago or so, the music by my favourite Duo and catering by Jubany organised by my neighbour Xavier ... so good to be among friend and the whole thing was much appreciated! A great start to the season.
Yesterday it hit 30º in Catalunya and today you could still feel it, a beautiful spring day in the Casa Nova estate, where I first went way back when to marry the owner of the house Servais ... I almost got lost but didn't ... today was easier certainly with the help of my mate Liz to guide me. Luke and Claire had organised a great day themselves surrounded by those most important to them and all was just about as good as it gets ... a first during todays ceremony ... I had to give an airtag to Luke from Claire since he always looses his wallet. Fun!!!!
A perfect April wedding, not too hot, not too cold, and Masia Cabellut was ... glorious. It was a lot of fun today, the 2 year old twins of Brad's sister were meant to scatter petals and then bring the rings, the petals were scattered about a kilometre from the aisle and then they promptly fell asleep and snored throughout the wedding, but not a problem, in fact just the opposite ... perfect. Altogether another great day and with the music of the old faithfuls Swite Duo!
So the B & H married in Marimutra ... in Blanes, just opposite the Convent ... one of the most stunning venues in Catalunya. It was all organise by Jenny Wong ... and all very well done. Just the three of us, lots of video and photo but good. The couple were delighted with the outcome and everything was just about as good as it gets.
After a week threatening rain the day was early spring perfect. 40 friends and family, their two children and Lauren and Aaron made today perfect. Everyone seemed to enjoy the ceremony, lots of feedback afterwards, a bride's father worried about his speech but all fine I think. They organised everything themselves and did it in the great surroundings of Almiral de la Font, Sitges.
My first bilingual wedding of the year and this one was wet! It rained but Adriana and Luke were stoic ... the wedding went on whatever, so as we all got a little wet the vows were spoken and the rings exchanged. Luke did his vows in Spanish ... a surprise for all, and Adriana in English! It was fab and I discovered a new venue Masia Vilasendra, lovely place.
So this fab bilingual couple married in Finca Mas Solers and how classy was that. All organised by Bodas y Miel they really made something special, I recommend taking a look at the video posted on Instagram (tobyweddings). Lovely couple who were very pleased with their 50/50 Spanish/English affair!
Well that was quite something else, seldom have so many made so many comments after a wedding. It was really all down to Zoe and Duncan who sent me such great input and I put it all together ... OK so I did that part well. The day was glorious, we are havign a mini May heatwave but it is manageable. All done in the Castell d'Empordà.
This was a bilingual affair and it was perfect ... the couple knew exactly what they wanted and I would say, after seeing them when it was all finished, that they got it. Jennifer from Crystal Events had everything under control and the place ... the Castell de Sant Marçal, was unbeatable.
i cannot write here what Darren said to me before the wedding, I can say what he said afterwards though ... he was bowled over. This wedding was always going to be fun but for me it's all about reading the couples and trying to find what they want. There are those who want a laugh a minute and others something more romantic, or formal, or family orientated ... all slightly different and all great to do. So Katie and Darren wanted some fun and some tears and that is just what they got! In the Castell d'Emporda ...
A & K had a small wedding with just their parents and 6 brothers and sisters in the wonderful Hotel Vistabella right next to the beach up near Roses ... it was beautiful, it really was and all seemed to enjoy.
Oh that was wild, it was fun and it was in Catalan and English, doing lots of bilingual weddings this year. This one was very special, I feel like we have been chatting forever and getting all sort of WhatsApp messages from Irina. Although they live in Ireland we are making plans to have lunch at my place when they are next over, I love having a relationship above and beyond ... a lovely couple and much loved. They held their wedding in a new venue for me ... the very beautiful Mas Marines in Sant Pau de Seguries ... next to Camprodon, also lovely.
Wow ... and another bilingual wedding ... this time Spanish and English ... and all fabulous. A mix up with buses meant a late start but we all took it in our stride and all was perfect. La Baronia is a great venue and the couple were over the moon, what more can you ask for.
Hilarious, Madison and Ramtin married in the Convent de Blanes and as I was leaving their wedding in my dinner jacket, bow tie undone around my neck in true 007 style there were calls of "Toby ... Toby", it was Natalie and her mother from this weekends wedding ... very fun and great to catch up with them for a while before heading home.
Madison and Ramtin's wedding was great, looked like it was going to be very complicated ... lots of Persian elements to add ... but it all went like a dream ... the wind coming off the sea was troublesome but we made it and all really seemed to enjoy the wedding ... I know I did, but I think I always do with Mireia (Coco&Carl) at the helm ... it's what happens when you marry a wedding planner!
I was soooo worried about this wedding, my first Christian South Asian wedding ... Munni and Manthrakodi included ... things that I really don't understand too well but with a mixture of fun and honesty we made it through and all was very much enjoyed. The only problem was the heat ... too much ... and my DJ ... too thick ... but apart from that all was just about as good as it gets.
Wow ... what a venue. Abby and Brayden and their family rented half the rooftop of the Sercotel Barcelona just in front of the Sagrada Familia. The Pope was here a couple of days ago with the blessing of the Tower of Jesus Christ and this year is the 100th anniversary of the death of Antoni Gaudi ... so it had to be. Check out my Instagram to see the pictures. All perfect.
