A couple of years ago I came back from a meeting with a couple in Barcelona that led to their wedding which was perfect. While we were chatting something came up and they told me that I had been recommended by another couple that they had met in Hong Kong where they live! This is far from being the first time this has happened, I have had enquiries and later carried out ceremonies for couples who I have been recommeded to while in Singapore or Edinburgh, I have married brothers and sisters (on different occasions) and so on. That same couple who heard about me at a dinner in Hong Kong invited their friends to the wedding and I later married them, this time in Marrakesh! I had another wedding in Sant Emilion, France, for a couple who were at a wedding I did in 2016.  

What I love is the way that sometimes this world seems so small and that a couple can be having a drink with friends in a bar somewhere in Singapore or Hong Kong or wherever and they simply say ... aha, you are getting married in Catalunya, you must get in touch with Toby. That is the sort of recommendation that goes further than what is below, nonetheless what is below is really important to me, so here it is ...

Everyone at the wedding has been talking about you since we came home, and how personal you made the ceremony and how funny it was! We just loved the intimate vibe and you captured our story beautifully ♥️

Thank you so much for everything, for making us feel at ease from day one, and I am so glad we got the full ceremony recorded (I have watched it at least 5 times already, crying and laughing all the way through!)

Every wedding will feel special to the couple but Toby really made ours feel unique and bespoke to us and our story together. He took the time to get to know us, meeting us in the months building up to the big day, which meant when it came down to it he could really reflect us as a couple. His natural charisma and ability to hold a courtyard meant that the guests were completely engaged throughout and everyone felt like they were a part of the moment. We are very happy that we chose Toby to be our celebrant. There was lots of communication between Toby & us in the lead up to the wedding. He informed us of exactly what details we needed to provide him with and gave us plenty of time to do so. Toby was extremely friendly and professional and altered the “wedding script” when requested to make it personalised the way we wanted it. On the wedding day he was great, our guests commented on how good he was at making the ceremony both serious and fun at the same time. We would highly recommend anyone who needs a celebrant in Barcelona to use Toby!

We worked with Toby to officiate our ceremony in Barcelona, Spain. Communication leading up to and day-of was a breeze! The guidelines he provided around how the ceremony would be structured and the vow prompts were so helpful since my husband and I wrote our own. He made the ceremony personalized to us and our story and made everything feel so special for us on our wedding day. We can't recommend him enough and would choose him again and again to be our officiant! 

We loved having Toby at our wedding! I honestly wish a booked him as a toastmaster as well. Everyone was talking about him after the ceremony, and one couple asked if he works internationally. And that says a lot, because they are Norwegian! He made the ceremony personal, fun and emotional. It was everything we wanted. Light, but serious at the same time. People were saying that the ceremony was their favorite part of the wedding, and that’s all thanks to Toby! Hope to see you in a Norwegian wedding in the future Toby :)

Our wedding ceremony with Toby was exactly what we wanted. He listened to us and crafted in a way that resonated with us, being very flexible and open about it. It was an easy process and he solved all of our doubts and questions, always available for chatting. We got really nice feedback about the ceremony from our friends and family. Going between spanish and english intertwining the languages worked just perfectly. Thanks Toby for making it so smooth!

We want to say a huge, HUGE, thank you for the part you played in our wonderful day - we knew you would be great, but you exceeded our expectations and everything about the ceremony was perfect. It is no exaggeration to say that every one of our guests had nothing but high praise for you, often repeatedly! By some distance, you have gone down as the best any of us have seen and we couldn't have been happier that you were our celebrant. 

We will no doubt re-read the ceremony again and again and parts of it will make it into the wine box (which thankfully we've not had to turn to just yet!). 

We initially met with Toby over Skype as we were planning our wedding from overseas and instantly knew that Toby's energy was exactly what we wanted for our wedding ceremony. Toby was extremely flexible and worked (patiently) with us by giving us direct questions and guidance on writing our vows, including working with our musicians to plan out when our songs would be played.

Our wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect in every way! Toby took all of the information we shared with him and made it his own. We had guests that spoke many languages and Toby made everyone feel welcome and included, and even said a few words in Polish!

Our ceremony was completely unique and captured us so distinctly as a couple and as individuals. Toby added his own comedic and romantic touch and we couldn't have imagined anyone else being able to deliver the things we loved about each other (and the things that get on one another's nerves) better than he did. 

We would highly recommend Toby for anyone looking for a civil ceremony - he made our day so memorable and meaningful and we can't thank him enough!

I saw a picture you posted of a recent wedding- wanted to let you know that to this day, most of our guests will say that your ceremony was still their favorite part of our amazing wedding. It was so different and so refreshing and clearly left it’s mark on everyone there!
